Opladen

Opladen is a district located in Germany that formerly served as the capital of the Rhein-Wupper-Kreis (Rhine-Wupper-District) until 1975. It is currently situated within the city of Leverkusen.

The area is accessible via Opladen station, which sits on the railway line to Wuppertal approximately 15 kilometres northeast of Cologne. The district is also positioned along the A3 Autobahn. Significant population growth occurred in the 20th century, rising from 6,338 residents in 1905 to 42,000 by 1975.
