Nippes, also known as Nip, is one of the ten departments located in southern Haiti. It was established as the most recently created department in the country following a split from the Grand'Anse department in 2003.
The capital of the Nippes department is Miragoâne. Among the various administrative divisions of Haiti, it is characterized as the least populous department.
