Monheim am Rhein is a town located on the eastern bank of the river Rhine in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated within the district of Mettmann and is bordered by the southern suburbs of Düsseldorf to the north, the Bergisches Land to the east, and the city of Cologne to the south.
The town consists of two primary city districts: Baumberg and Monheim. The local dialect spoken in the area is known as Monnemer Platt, which belongs to the Ripuarian language group.
