Hürth is a town located in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated approximately 6 km to the southwest of Cologne's city centre and shares a border with the city of Cologne.
The town is positioned at the northeastern slope of the Kottenforst-Ville natural preserve. Its municipal area covers a relatively large territory consisting of thirteen districts, which were formerly independent villages. The landscape is characterized by various stretches of forest and interspersed lakes.
