Heinsberg is a town located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It serves as the administrative seat of the district of Heinsberg.
The town is situated on the river Wurm near the border with the Netherlands. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 20 km north-east of Sittard and 30 km south-west of Mönchengladbach.
