Haan is a town located in the district of Mettmann within the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated at the western edge of the Bergisches Land region, positioned approximately 12 km southwest of Wuppertal and 17 km east of Düsseldorf.
The town's current boundaries were shaped in 1975 when the municipality of Gruiten was incorporated into Haan.
