Erftstadt is a town located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated within the Rhein-Erft-Kreis district, approximately 20 km south-west of Cologne.
The name of the town is derived from the Erft river, which flows through the municipality. Erftstadt shares borders with the neighboring towns of Brühl, Kerpen, Zülpich, and Weilerswist.
