Bonn, officially known as the Federal City of Bonn, is a federal city located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is situated on the banks of the Rhine river in the southernmost portion of the Rhine-Ruhr region.
The city has a population exceeding 300,000 people and is positioned approximately 24 km (15 mi) south-southeast of Cologne.
