Attendorn is a medium-sized district town located in the southern Sauerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Situated within the Olpe district, the town currently has a population of 25,089 inhabitants.
The municipality is recognized nationwide for its proximity to Lake Bigge and the Atta Cave. Additionally, Attendorn has been officially permitted to use the title "Hanseatic town" since March 19, 2012.
