Ostercappeln is a municipality located in the district of Osnabrück within the state of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated in the Wiehengebirge region, approximately 15 kilometers northeast of the city of Osnabrück.
The municipality consists of three villages: Ostercappeln, Venne, and Schwagstorf. These settlements are positioned along the Bundesstraße 218. A notable local landmark is the St. Raphael hospital, which functions as a general hospital for the surrounding municipalities and serves as a regional center for pulmonary diseases.
