Juist is an island and municipality located in the district of Aurich in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated at the edge of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea in the southern North Sea as one of the seven East Frisian Islands. The island is positioned between Borkum Island to the west, Memmert Island to the southwest, and Norderney to the east.
The geography of Juist varies based on tide levels, with dimensions ranging from 17 km (11 mi) in length to a width between 500 metres (1,600 ft) and 1 kilometre (0.62 mi). It is separated from the neighboring island of Norderney by the Norderneyer Seegatt. The island contains two villages: the main village of Juist and the village of Loog.
