Elze is a town located in the district of Hildesheim within the state of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Leine, positioned approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) west of the city of Hildesheim.
The municipality of Elze also encompasses several surrounding villages, including Esbeck, Mehle, Sehlde, Sorsum, Wittenburg, and Wülfingen.
