Damme is a municipality and city located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. It is situated approximately six kilometres northeast of Brugge (Bruges). The municipality covers a total area of 89.52 km².
The municipality comprises the city of Damme proper along with several villages, including Hoeke, Lapscheure, Moerkerke, Oostkerke, Sijsele, Vivenkapelle, and Sint-Rita. As of January 1, 2006, the population was recorded at 10,899, resulting in a population density of 122 inhabitants per km².
