Barsinghausen is a town located in the district of Hanover within the state of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers west of Hanover at the Deister chain of hills.
The town belongs to the historic landscape known as Calenberg Land. Its first historical mention dates back to 1193.
