Bad Fallingbostel is a district town (Kreisstadt) located in the Heidekreis district of Lower Saxony, Germany. With a population of approximately 11,000 inhabitants, the town maintains close geographical and social ties to the nearby city of Walsrode situated a few miles to the west.
The town is recognized as a spa destination, having held state-recognized Kneipp spa status since 1976 and officially receiving the title of "Bad" in 2002. Historically, the area served as a site for military activity; it hosted a British Army base until 2015 and was the location for Defender 2020, which was the largest US Army and NATO exercise conducted since the Cold War.
