Nidderau is a town located in the Main-Kinzig district of Hesse, Germany. It is situated approximately 12 km north of Hanau and 20 km northeast of Frankfurt.
The municipality was established on January 1, 1970, through the merger of Heldenbergen and Windecken. Subsequent expansions occurred in the following years when Eichen and Erbstadt joined on January 1, 1972, followed by the merger with Ostheim in July 1974.
