Hünfeld is a town located in the district of Fulda within the German state of Hesse. It is situated approximately 16 km northeast of the city of Fulda.
The town has a population of nearly 16,000 residents. In the year 2000, Hünfeld served as the host site for the 40th Hessentag state festival.
