Giessen, spelled Gießen in German, is a town located in the German state of Hesse. It serves as the capital for both the district of Giessen and the administrative region of Giessen.
The city has a population of approximately 90,000 residents. A significant portion of its demographic consists of roughly 37,000 university students.
