Weißenburg in Bayern is a town located in the Middle Franconia region of Germany. Formerly known by the names Weißenburg im Nordgau and Weißenburg am Sand, it serves as the administrative capital of the district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen.
As of 2024, the town has a population of 18,345 residents. Historically, the municipality is notable for having served as a free imperial city for a period of 500 years.
