Waldkraiburg is a town located in the district of Mühldorf within the state of Bavaria, Germany. It has a population of approximately 24,000 and holds the distinction of being the largest town in its district. Geographically, it is situated on the river Inn, roughly ten kilometers southwest of Mühldorf and sixty kilometers east of Munich.
The town is recognized as one of the Bavarian displaced person cities. This history stems from World War II, during which an armor factory produced gunpowder in the area. Following the war, the remaining bunkers were repurposed to provide makeshift housing for displaced persons arriving from Bohemia.
