Traunreut is a town located in southeastern Bavaria, Germany, within the Traunstein district. Situated at coordinates 47°58′N 12°35′E, it lies in the heart of the Chiemgau region between Munich and Salzburg.
The town is positioned approximately 10 km east of Lake Chiemsee, 25 km north of the Alps, and 35 km west of Salzburg. It has a population of approximately 21,000 residents.
