Haßfurt is a town located in Bavaria, Germany. It serves as the capital of the Haßberge district and is situated on the river Main. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 20 km east of Schweinfurt and 30 km northwest of Bamberg.
The town has historical significance regarding railway infrastructure; Ludwig's Western Railway reached Haßfurt in 1852, and a branch line to Hofheim operated between 1892 and 1995. Additionally, the site is home to the 1867 Haßfurt Bridge, which is considered to be the first cantilever bridge ever built.
