Gunzenhausen is a town located in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district of Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the river Altmühl, positioned approximately 19 kilometres northwest of Weißenburg and 45 kilometres southwest of Nuremberg.
The town is recognized as a national recreation area. Additionally, it is noted for its proximity to part of the Limes Germanicus, a Roman border wall that is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
