Grainau

Grainau is a municipality situated in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in southern Bavaria, Germany. It is located at the base of the Zugspitze, which is the highest mountain in Germany. This peak is part of the Wetterstein Alps, a sub-mountain range that branches off from the larger Alps mountain system.

The area features Lake Eibsee, which lies at the foot of the Zugspitze and is surrounded by forest. The municipality is characterized by its proximity to these prominent alpine landmarks and natural landscapes.
