Drachselsried is a municipality located in the district of Regen within the state of Bavaria, Germany. Situated in the Zeller Valley, the village is part of the Glass Road (Glasstrasse) region and lies within the boundaries of the Bavarian Forest National Park.
Historical records first note the existence of the village in 1184. In recent years, the community has experienced growth through the development of new residential homes on land provided by the local council and the 2017 addition of a retirement home featuring private apartments near the village center.
