Breitengüßbach is a municipality located in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg within the state of Bavaria, Germany. It serves as a local administrative area situated in the northeastern part of the region.
The settlement's historical origins date back to at least the early 9th century. It was first documented in an Imperial document issued between the years 812 and 830 under the name Gusibach, at which time it belonged to the royal court at Hallstadt.
