Bad Wiessee is a municipality located in the district of Miesbach in Upper Bavaria, Germany. Situated on the western shore of Lake Tegernsee, the town has been recognized as a spa town since 1922. The name "Bad" translates to "spa" or "baths," while "Wiessee" originates from "Westsee," referring to the western portion of the lake.
The settlement was first documented in 1017 within the tax book of the Tegernsee Abbey, which required the area to provide goods. As of 2014, the municipality had a population of approximately 4,800 inhabitants.
