Bad Feilnbach is a municipality located in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim, Germany. Situated at the foot of the Wendelstein mountain, it is characterized by its wooded surroundings and a mild climate, which has earned the area the nickname "Bavarian Meran."
The town is recognized as a famous "Moorheilbad" (moor spa) and was officially awarded the title "Bad" in 1973. Since the 19th century, the municipality has utilized local peat deposits, often referred to as "black gold," as the foundation for its extensive spa and health facilities. These deposits are recognized for their healing success regarding a variety of diseases, establishing the area as a well-known spa and tourist community.
While the majority of the municipality is officially recognized as a healing spa resort, this designation excludes certain parts of the former municipality of Dettendorf.
