Trossingen is a town located in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated in the Baar region, positioned between the Swabian Alb and the Black Forest. The town is accessible within an hour's drive from Stuttgart, approximately half an hour from Lake Constance, and about twenty minutes from the source of the river Danube.
The town is widely recognized as a "music town" due to its concentration of musical education institutions. Despite having a population of nearly 17,000 inhabitants as of late 2018, it hosts the University of Music Trossingen, which serves as one of Baden-Württemberg's five state conservatories. Additional specialized musical institutions in the area include the Hohner Konservatorium and the Bundesakademie für musikalische Jugendbildung.
