Täferrot is a municipality located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg within the Ostalbkreis district. It serves as a local administrative area situated in the southwestern region of Germany.
The settlement was originally known as Rot. In 1298, it was renamed Afrenrot to distinguish it from other towns sharing the same name. Over time, the name underwent a linguistic corruption and became Täferrot.
