Neulußheim is a town located in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It currently has a population of approximately 7,100 inhabitants and is situated near larger cities including Speyer, Mannheim, and Heidelberg.
The town was founded in 1711 by Julius Schickard at a crossroads. Its growth was significantly accelerated by its logistical advantages and the construction of a station on the Mannheim-Karlsruhe railway line in 1870. This infrastructure allowed the settlement to expand rapidly from a small hamlet.
A notable landmark in Neulußheim is the railway station, which features an overhead crossing designed in 1984 by the renowned German architect Gottfried Böhm. The station has been the subject of recent restoration efforts, including the construction of two elevators, which were documented by the German public broadcasting service ZDF in 2020.
