Marbach am Neckar is a town located in Germany, situated approximately 20 kilometres north of Stuttgart. It belongs to the district of Ludwigsburg within the Stuttgart region and the European metropolitan region of Stuttgart.
The town is primarily recognized as the birthplace of Friedrich Schiller. In recognition of this historical connection, it has officially held the designation of Schiller City since 2022. Marbach am Neckar serves as a cultural hub for literature, housing several significant institutions including the Schiller National Museum, the German Literature Archive, and the Modern Literature Museum.
