Leinfelden-Echterdingen is a town located in the district of Esslingen within the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated approximately 10 km south of Stuttgart and is positioned near the Stuttgart Airport and adjacent to the newly built Stuttgart Trade Fair.
The municipality was formed on January 1, 1975, through the merger of four former municipalities: Leinfelden, Echterdingen, Musberg, and Stetten auf den Fildern. A notable historical event occurred in August 1908 when the Zeppelin LZ 4 caught fire and burned out in Echterdingen.
