Konstanz, traditionally known as Constance in English, is a university city located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It has a population of approximately 83,000 inhabitants and is situated at the western end of Upper Lake Constance.
The city is home to the University of Konstanz and served as the residence of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Konstanz for over 1,200 years.
