Ellwangen, officially Ellwangen (Jagst), is a town located in the district of Ostalbkreis in the eastern part of Baden-Württemberg, southern Germany. It is situated approximately 17 kilometres north of the city of Aalen.
The town is commonly referred to simply as Ellwangen and follows German pronunciation for its name. It serves as a local municipality within the state's regional geography.
