Braunsbach is a municipality located in the district of Schwäbisch Hall within the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Situated along the Kocher river, the town is positioned approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the district seat of Schwäbisch Hall.
The municipality is bordered by several neighboring towns and communities. To the north lies Künzelsau, the county seat of Hohenlohe; to the east is Langenburg; and to the southeast is Wolpertshausen. The southern border is shared with the town of Schwäbisch Hall, while Untermünkheim lies to the southwest and Kupferzell in Hohenlohe is located to the west.
