Kadan was a historical figure associated with the Mongol Empire rather than a geographical location. He was the son of Ögedei, the second Great Khan of the Mongols, and a concubine. As such, he was the grandson of Genghis Khan and the brother of Güyük Khan.
During the Mongol invasion of Europe, Kadan played a significant military role in the campaign. He led a diversionary force alongside his cousin Baidar and Orda Khan to attack Poland, while the primary Mongol forces targeted the Kingdom of Hungary.
