Kutná Hora is a town located in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It currently has a population of approximately 22,000 inhabitants.
The history of the town is closely linked to silver mining, which facilitated its rapid development and wealth. The historic centre of Kutná Hora was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 due to its outstanding architecture and its significant influence on subsequent architectural developments across other Central European city centres.
Notable landmarks within the town include the Sedlec Abbey and the Sedlec Ossuary. Additionally, the historic town centre is protected as an urban monument reservation, which ranks as the fourth largest in the Czech Republic.
