Třinec is a city located in the Frýdek-Místek District within the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. Situated along the Olza River, it lies on the national border with Poland.

The city has a population of approximately 34,000 inhabitants, which makes it the least populated statutory city in the country. Třinec serves as an important cultural center for the Polish minority residing in the Czech Republic.
