Platanistasa is a village situated in the Nicosia District of Cyprus. It is located approximately 14 km southwest of Mitsero within the Pitsilia region on the northern side of the Troodos mountains. The village sits at an average altitude of 940 meters.
The area features historical significance, including the presence of pre-Christian graves. Historically, Platanistasa was granted in 1474 to a relative of Catherine Cornaro, who served as the Queen of Cyprus. The village is also home to the Stavros tou Agiasmati church, which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Painted Churches of the Troödos Region.
