Pentalia is a village situated in the Paphos District of Cyprus, located approximately 6 km north of Amargeti. Situated at an altitude of 540 metres on a steep slope overlooking the Xeros river valley, it ranks as the third largest village in the province by agricultural land size.
The village is divided into two distinct settlements: the old and the new. The old settlement preserves traditional stone-built houses along narrow streets, while the new settlement features modern buildings primarily used as seasonal cottages. This division occurred following a 1954 government decision to relocate the population after land caved in during the 1953 Paphos earthquake.
Nearby landmarks include the Panagia tou Sinti Monastery, which was founded in the 16th century and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The monastery received a Europa Nostra award in 1997 for its restoration and conservation efforts. While urbanization has impacted the area since the 1970s, Pentalia maintains a small number of permanent residents across both districts.
