Paralimni

Cyprus

Paralimni is a town and municipal district located within the Famagusta District of Cyprus. As part of the Paralimni–Deryneia Municipality, it serves as the temporary administrative center for the Famagusta District.

The town experienced significant growth in size and status following the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, primarily due to an influx of refugees from Northern Cyprus. As of the 2011 census, the population was recorded at 15,000 residents.

Paralimni functions as a primary commuter town for individuals employed in the tourism sectors of the neighboring areas of Ayia Napa and Protaras.
