Kouklia is a village located in the Paphos District of Cyprus, situated approximately 16 kilometres east of the city of Paphos on the Mediterranean island.
The village is built over the site of the ancient city of Palaepaphos, which was the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. This location served as a major center for her worship in the ancient world.
Due to its historical religious significance and unique architecture, Kouklia was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980 alongside Kato Paphos.
