Giolou is a village located in the Paphos District of Cyprus. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters above sea level, positioned roughly 20 km north of Paphos and 15 km south of Polis Chrysochous.
The settlement is connected to the southwest and north by the main road leading toward Latsi and Polis Chrysochous. While some theories suggest the name Giolou originates from the Turkish Cypriot word "yiol" or the wind god Aeolus, the most prevalent version attributes the name to a feudal owner who held the village during the Byzantine era or the period of Frankish rule.
