Pombas is a city located in the northeastern region of the island of Santo Antão in Cape Verde. It serves as the seat of the municipality of Paul and is situated on the coast at the mouth of the Ribeira do Paul.
The city is positioned approximately 7 km southeast of Ribeira Grande and 15 km north of Porto Novo, the island's capital. It is accessible via national roads EN1-SA02 and EN1-SA03, which connect it to these neighboring locations. Pombas was officially elevated from town status to city in 2010.
