Nova Sintra is a city located in the central part of the island of Brava in southwestern Cape Verde. It serves as the seat of the Brava Municipality and has an elevation of approximately 500 meters. The settlement was named after Sintra, which served as the summer residence of the Portuguese kings.
The population of Nova Sintra is about 1,500 people. While tourism remains less developed with only a few small hotels and guest houses available, agriculture is the predominant source of income for the region. Public transportation in the form of "aluguer" buses to other villages originates from Praça Eugénio Tavares.
