Pivijay is a town and municipality located in the Department of Magdalena in Colombia. It was established as a settlement in 1774 by founders José Flores, Julian Valera, and Antonio Sánchez.
The locality was officially promoted to the status of a municipality in 1912. It remains a recognized administrative division within the department.
