Chinchiná is a municipality and town located in the department of Caldas in Colombia. It is situated approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) southwest of Manizales at an elevation of 1,360 meters (4,460 ft) above sea level.
Founded in 1857 by Antioquian colonists, the town is positioned within a valley characterized by surrounding coffee plantations in the Central Cordillera of the Andes. The area is also located near the active volcano Nevado del Ruiz, which lies about 30 kilometers (19 mi) to the east.
