Aguadas is a town and municipality located in the northern part of the Colombian department of Caldas. It was founded in 1808 by José Narciso Estrada and is bordered by several neighboring municipalities, including Abejorral, Sonsón, Salamina, Pacora, Caramanta, Valparaiso, and La Pintada.
The municipality is known for its historic center, which was officially declared a national monument in 1982. It also possesses a reputation for the production of Aguadeño hats, which are noted for their similarity to palm-straw Panama hats. Due to its diverse geography, the area features a variety of climates ranging from warm to moor, resulting in an overall temperate climate.
