Somondoco is a town and municipality located in the Department of Boyacá, Colombia. It is situated within the Valle de Tenza, an area characterized by numerous small towns positioned at approximately the same altitude. This valley serves as an ancient route connecting the Altiplano Cundiboyacense with the Llanos.
The municipality shares borders with several neighboring areas, including Almeida to the east and Guayatá to the west. To the north, it borders Guateque and Sutatenza, while its southern boundary meets the municipality of Ubalá in the department of Cundinamarca.
